This is week two for the Summer Garden Granny Square Blanket, and week one for the Bella Bee Ripple Blanket. Steady progress has been made on both. I had a little catching up to do with the squares so haven't got round to sewing in the ends on the last few. I feel I still need to work on the colours a bit more on this blanket. I'm not happy with some of the combinations, and I'm going to stop using the Lavender, it just doesn't seem to be 'gelling' with the others. The colour palette is a bit too limited. I'd like a few extra colours to play with so will be looking at getting a few more this week and see how they work out. Once I'm happy with the colour combinations I can start sewing blocks of squares together so it's not such a big daunting job at the end. At least with the slow growth it gives me time to work on the colours so I'll be truely happy with it when it's finished.
The ripple though, Oh My, I'm in love! I'm skippingly happy with it. I have yet to do today's row as I did initially include yellow, but wasn't satisfied with the result so I ripped it back and it set me back a couple of rows.
I'm glad I've got both blankets on the go. The ripple will provide a quicker result and keep me satisfied while I plug away at the other. And only doing one a day still gives me time to do a little knitting occasionally, because I still need to knit!
I'm off to get rippling.
Please check out the other projects at Gingerbread Girl.
Peace Out x

Both are looking fab,I'm in love with the ripple blanket and is next on my to do list,I think. Deb xxxx
Oh My! So beautiful, both of them. I am so in love with this colour scheme. I could stare at that ripple all day!
Love the idea of the one a day challenge, would make bigger projects much less daunting! I'm making a blanket for my Dad and his wife for Christmas and I really need to do work on it but it keeps getting pushed to the back of the queue of all the other smaller crafty things I'm trying to get done.
Love your colour scheme, it's so calming and beautiful.
There's something about a ripple isn't there? Scientists should study the effects of ripple blankets on people's brains because I'm pretty sure it is a natural endorphin stimulus!
I LOVE the ripple - the colours are perfect :)
Ooooooooooh...I do love the ripple :)
Aaaaaaah the ripple is indeed beautiful! But the square blanket will look even better when finished. Just wait until you put the edge on it, it will be amazing. Really nice that they go so well together, colorwise.
Both projects are looking great
Oh, I should start a ripple blanket too, it is so gorgeous. And I love your squares, I like the green colour so much around every flower.
Have a nice week! Barbina
Love the colors you are using - they are very me. I also love the ripple pattern - good thing as I have several of them going!
I like both your ripple and your grannies. I really like the blue in the grannies, is that the lavender you aren't so keen on? Maybe when you add more colours it will all balance differently and you will like it again. I think holding off sewing them together is a good idea as it allows you to use more colours.
Mmmmmmm, I'm just loving that ripple! :) Those colours are gorgeous together - I can't wait to see more!
Your granny squares are so lovely too - I was going to say the same as Faith, that you might find that when you start to use more colours the lavender will start to gel with the other colours.
Wow!!! They are both lovely but you're right about that ripple - that would make me skippingly happy too - it's amazingly beautiful!
I really love your ripple blanket, it looks absolutely beautiful with those colours you have chosen :D
Your squares are looking great too :) I so need to try and make the ripple pattern
I join the chorus in admiring your colour choices. When am I going to get the hang of the colour thing??? They are both stunning.
Pretty colors. :-)
The ripple is really beautiful! I love that both blankets match and I think your granny square colours are pefect, even Lavender! I can't wait to see more stripe progress now :-)
